Career Transition Coaching

Got the Sunday night dreads? Tossing and turning because you can’t believe the weekend is over already and you have to spend the next five days in a place you don’t love? I want you to love your work. Life is just to short for anything less.

If you’re looking for somewhere new to hang your work hat, please get in touch. I’ve been where you are – and found my way. Together we will:

  • help you figure out where you’d rather be

  • review your CV and your LinkedIn profile

  • even talk to you about – eek! – networking!

Let’s find the work you love – ’cause it’s out there.

Don’t spend another sleepless night wondering what to do with the rest of your life. Let’s start the conversation.

Business Coaching

I help new managers become great managers.

Please, don’t just send your new managers on a two day training course. They’ll come back to the office with a binder that promptly lands on a shelf somewhere in the far reaches of their office. You know what I’m talking about, the infamous “shelf help”.

For lasting results, give them ongoing coaching support as they acquire the skills they need to become great managers.

Some signs a leader-manager could use some ongoing training and supportive feedback – the manager:

  • isn’t clear on the expectations for her/his role (no specifics);

  • is unorganized;

  • wastes time in meetings, invites colleagues who don’t need to be there and doesn’t hold anyone in the group accountable for their contributions;

  • has one style of communication (that one size fits all approach) or uses the wrong communication style at the wrong time; and/or

  • struggles to bring out the best in their team members.

People are often promoted on the basis of the work they’ve produced, not because of their innate management skills. So it may be that this person, like many of us, is not a natural manager, is new to the role, or just never received the right training.

Whatever the reason, there is a solution!

If you are a new manager or your team has leader-managers who are encountering challenges in running effective meetings, their people relationships, or just getting things done generally, let’s talk.

I could tell very quickly that Darcy was a great listener. She heard what I didn’t want to say and was able to help me get some perspective when I was feeling very scattered. She suggested a title for me that I hadn’t thought of and as I thought about it afterwards, I realized it encompassed so much of what I can do. So I’m trying it on for a while, along with doing some fun homework Darcy gave me. It was all right there in front of me. I couldn’t see it myself, but Darcy did and she opened my eyes. If you need some perspective on your career, I highly recommend getting on the phone with Darcy.

Darcy’s intimate, empathetic, personal and fun approach is disarming and allowed me to be completely at ease, to be open and available. She was able to help me pull out some of the thoughts that I’d had buried away, and allowed a safe place for discussion. From our session, Darcy encouraged me to seek out inspiration and approach old passions that I’ve neglected, all in attempt to reclaim my happiness.
